Jesus Ortiz Betancourt

Jesus Ortiz Betancourt, age 80, of Crystal City, Texas, entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2026. He was born on June 20, 1945, to Jesus Ortiz and Catalina Betancourt.

Jesus was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who lived a life centered around family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. He enjoyed racing cars, watching baseball, especially his Chicago Cubs, and spending his days fishing. His sense of humor and love for his family will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria P. Ortiz; his parents, Jesus Ortiz and Catalina Betancourt; and his sisters, Rosa and Angelita.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Jesus (Nichole) Ortiz Jr. and Teresita Ortiz; his siblings, Jose Luis Flores, Carmela Rodriguez, and Lupe Valderrama; and his cherished grandchildren, Deana Ellis, Brianna M. Ortiz, Steveon Brynum, and Jesslyn A. Ortiz who brought immense pride and joy to his life.

Jesus will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
