Leopoldo Diaz Jr. entered into eternal rest on October 21, 2026, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, at the age of 67. He was born on June 21, 1959, in Crystal City, Texas, and will be remembered as a man whose greatest joy was the family he loved so deeply.
Leopoldo found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially when he could share those moments with his children. He loved getting on his motorcycle and feeling the wind on his face. He also had a deep appreciation for horses and old western movies, interests that reflected his steady spirit and love for timeless things.
Those who knew Leopoldo will remember the smile he always had on his face and the way he could make others smile with his constant jokes and stories. His children and grandchildren will cherish memories of time spent barbequing with him, listening to his stories, and learning from the life lessons he was always ready to share. His mentorship meant so much to his children, and his presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to those around him. He was a simple man in the best sense of the word, loyal in heart, devoted to his loved ones, and a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan through every season.
He is survived by his mother, Herlinda Diaz; his sons, Adrian (Priscilla) Diaz, Leopoldo (Kirsten) Diaz III, Edward (Josslyn) Diaz, and Oscar (Ana) Diaz; his daughter, Annalisa (Alejandro) Diaz. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosario (Manuel) Serna, and Cecelia (Benito) Alvarado. Also left to treasure his memory is his best friend, Sergio Benavidez, whom he considered a brother.
Leopoldo’s legacy continues in his grandchildren, Adrian Jr., Andrew, Brendin, Levi, McKenzie, Madelyn, Joseph, Joezelle, Jeovonni, Fernando, Penelope, Oliver, and Alejandro Jr. Each of them carries forward a part of his humor, his strength, and the love he poured into his family. He will be missed deeply and remembered always by all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Leopoldo Diaz, and his sister, Anna Luisa Lyle.
Leopoldo Diaz Jr. leaves behind a life marked by love, laughter, guidance, and unwavering devotion to family. His memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons remembered, and the love shared by those who hold him close in their hearts.
